Photo Day
checklist.

• Have the home ready before the appointment. Shoot time is for creating the media.
• Put away paperwork, chargers, toys, pet gear and loose items.
• Hide family photos, mail, medications, personal products and valuables.
• Turn ceiling fans off and all working interior lights on.
• Open curtains and blinds unless the view is distracting.
• Clear the driveway when possible.

• Straighten furniture, decor, rugs and window coverings.
• Clear coffee tables and side tables. Fluff pillows and fold throws.
• Hide remotes, cords, excess electronics and pet items.

• Clear counters; leave only simple decor.
• Hide trash bins, dish racks, soap bottles, sponges and cleaning supplies.
• Wipe counters, sinks, appliances and stainless steel.
• Clear magnets, papers and clutter from the refrigerator.

• Make every bed with smooth bedding.
• Clear nightstands except for a lamp or simple decor.
• Hide laundry, shoes, clothing, charging cables and pet beds.
• Close closet doors unless the closet is being showcased.

• Put away toiletries, toothbrushes, razors, shampoo and soap bottles.
• Close toilet lids. Clean mirrors, shower glass, counters and fixtures.
• Use clean, matching towels if towels stay visible.
• Hide bath mats, scales, plungers and trash cans when practical.

• Move vehicles out of the driveway when possible.
• Store hoses, toys, tools, lawn equipment and bins.
• Sweep the porch, tidy the entry and straighten outdoor furniture.
• Keep real-estate signs and visible license plates out of the camera view.

Everything should be ready before filming begins. Moving video is much harder to retouch than a still photo.

• Clear clutter, signs, cars, bins, pet items and soap bottles.
• Check mirrors, windows and reflective surfaces for unwanted people or objects.
• Keep pathways clear for smooth camera movement.

• Fans off. Working lights on. Curtains and blinds open.
• Counters, tables and floors clear. Beds made. Toilet lids closed.
• Closet and cabinet doors shut.
• Do a last room-by-room walkthrough. Agents: arriving a few minutes early gives you time to catch small distractions.
